Yesterday as I was painting I accidentally got a little paint on the floor. Oops! Thankfully we have wood floors! So I started cleaning up the black paint before the paint dried. As I was scrubbing, the Lord got me to thinking about how He does this with us and our hearts. He “scrubs” our sins away. The paint came off the wood floor. But the day before, at my art lesson, I accidentally got black paint on her carpet. I can’t help it; I’m accident prone, like my mom! Anyway my art teacher got it to where you could barely see the paint in one area of the carpet. But you could tell in one area–you could totally tell there was black paint there. Take a look.
When I thought about those two incidents compared to our sin and the cleansing of the Lord, I was so thankful that Jesus cleanses ALL our sins away to where you can’t see the stains.
David asked for cleansing in psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Sunday night at church we were singing one of my favorite hymns, which is “And Can It Be.” The chorus is my favorite! God’s love is so amazing! To me it’s indescribable how much He loves me.
Hope this post has blessed you!
And Can It Be
1 And can it be that I should gain
An int’rest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain?
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, should die for me?
Chorus
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, should die for me!
2 ‘Tis mystery all! Th’Immortal dies!
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine!
‘Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more. [Refrain]
3 He left His Father’s throne above,
So free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race;
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me. [Refrain]
4 Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free;
I rose, went forth and followed Thee. [Refrain]
5 No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own. [Refrain]
YES! HIS love is amazing and HE washes us whiter than snow…
