Unfinished Abstract, Hand-Painted By God.

Have you ever considered how to tell your life in only six words? This past week I was challenged to write a six-word memoir in my online writing course called “Compel.” A six-word memoir is basically six words that tell a powerful story.

Now, you might be thinking, “My life isn’t interesting.” Think about what you have and what you have been through. I challenge you to write a six-word memoir; just try!

Describing my life has gotten easier over time. Plus I’ve been learning loads of information about describing different situations in this writing class. I wrote two six-word memoirs. The first one took a whole afternoon to come up with the right words. The second one popped into my head in five minutes or less.

1 Imprisoned by dystonia, shackled with JOY.

2 Unfinished abstract, hand-painted by God.

We all are unfinished abstract paintings painted by God. Imperfect masterpieces riddled with sin yet forgiven by His Grace. Like the children song goes, “He’s still working on me, making me what I ought to be.” Notice it says “ought” rather than “want.” I’m so glad He didn’t make me what I wanted to be. Because I would have never learned how much I need Him every single day. Being imprisoned by dystonia, I have learned I can live a joyful life but it’s because of what He did for me.

Jesus died on the cross for ALL our sin and was buried and three days later He arose conquering death and the grave. He’s ALIVE! He offers to be your Savior and friend. He’s waiting for you to come and get this free gift of salvation today.

Here’s how you can receive the gift of salvation today.

Because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for us on the cross, the Bible states, He that has the Son has life. We can receive the Son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior by personal faith, by trusting in the person of Christ and His death for our sins.

John 1:12 But as many as have received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hat not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Each of us must come to God the same way—as a sinner who recognizes his sinfulness, realizes no human works can result in salvation, and relies totally on Christ alone by faith alone for our salvation.

If you would like to receive and trust Christ as your personal Savior, you may want to express your faith in Christ by a simple prayer acknowledging your sinfulness, accepting His forgiveness and putting your faith in Christ for your salvation.

There’s such encouragement in knowing that God isn’t finished with me until I join Him in Heaven. Thanks for sharing these 6 word memoirs. What a great way to really think about what god has done in your life, thus far.
