Hello, my name is Abigail. I have secondary Dystonia Dystonia is a muscle disorder There are many types of Dystonia.
My Dystonia began when I was three years old. We were on a family vacation when I got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I was a normal little kid, talked, ran, jumped, and asked questions, but all that changed with a tick bite. I got brain damage and due to a doctor misdiagnosising me, I am now unable to talk. My muscles are also very tight at times and loose at other times But without God I couldn’t have learned how to walk or feed myself. Even dressing myself is hard. But praise the Lord I can do all that. Although I don’t have much use of my right hand, I can do most things with my left hand. I’ll be honest with you, life is hard sometimes. Especially since I’ll never drive. I have to depend on someone to take me to where I want to go. Now that I’m out of high school it’s hard to know where or what my future has for me. But I’m depending on God to show me what to do. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:5b ” I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” God won’t ever leave you. That’s one of the great promises he gave us, along with many others. God will help you through any trial you’re facing every day you just have to ask.
Thank you for sharing your story. It is an encouragement to me. May the Lord continue to bless and help you through your trial.

Abigail, I have watched you grow into a beautiful, godly young lady. I have even prayed for you to be able to talk. Perhaps God will answer that prayer one day, but even if you can’t speak verbally now, the written word is very powerful and lasting. God can use your blog to encourage so many people, no matter what trials they are facing. I look forward to reading more from you and how you have loved God through your trials. God bless you!

Abigail, I love the quote from Hebrews 13. I am sure it will help me look to God (rather than feel sorry for myself) in getting through life’s trials with faith rather than fear and a positive attitude. Thanks for starting your blog.
