Day by day part 1

The hymn “Day  By Day” has Been so encouraging ever since I can remember.  But It really became my favorite hymn when I had to have a major surgery on my legs. The reason I needed the surgery was because the bones in my legs grew  twisted. The twisting started when I got Dystonia, a muscle disorder. Dystonia was caused by rocky mountain spotted fever which caused brain damage. Part of the brain damage caused me to never talk again. But praise the Lord  for devices that can help me and many other people communicate.

My favorite verse in Day by Day is the third verse which says, “Help me then in every tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
Ever to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.”

Knowing  God will help me through EVERY tribulation  till I go to Heaven is a wonderful promise to know. He has the strength and power to carry us through day by day,  month by month, and year by year. He will never leave you or forsake you because He loves you!!

Day by Day

1. Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find, to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He Whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best—
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

2. Every day, the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He Whose Name is Counselor and Power;
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

3. Help me then in every tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
Ever to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

    That song became very dear to me, too, when going through my trial of infertility. I think it is especially meaningful when you are hurting. I am thankful God used it to remind you of His promises when you were going through that difficult recovery from surgery.
