When The Waiting Is Over

I was reading in First Thessalonians last week. I was in chapter four and I had these verses thirteen through eighteen marked from when I read them last time. These verses talk about Heaven and how one day the rapture will happen!! How we will be caught up in the air to see The Lord. These verses say,

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words”

Aren’t those comforting words? After I read that chapter, the next day I heard a song about Heaven. The song is called “Homecoming Day” written by Melissa Brady. The song was very moving and encouraging to me. So much that it was in my head all last week. The chorus is my favorite, it goes like this.

“Homecoming day, when the waiting is over.
Homecoming day, all these earthly trials are over.
Heaven will be worth it all soon we shall hear the call that tells us it’s homecoming day.”

Praise The Lord there won’t be trials in Heaven! The second verse talks about seeing our friends and loved ones. Aww, what a comforting thought to see our friends and loved ones again. We also will see Jesus and I’m so excited about that! I hope as you listen to this song you will be blessed.
