So Thankful For Friendships! Part 1

When I was growing up, my parents would always have good Christian music playing in the house and in the car. There were some groups I didn’t like as much as others. I’ll never forget, though, that my favorite group at that time was The Marshall Sisters. They played instruments like the guitar, violins, and banjo. Their family came to our church one time to sing.

Fast forward to 2014. Jessica Marshall, one of sisters who sang in that group, came to be a summer intern at our church. I thought it was neat to finally meet one of the Marshall sisters. We got to know each other that summer, mainly by texting. After her internship she went back and graduated from Pensacola Christian College. She decided to move back to Stillwater in June of 2015.

We hit it off like she had never left. A few weeks ago she invited some college-age girls over to her house. She wanted us to meet one of her older sisters. The get-together was a blast! Haven’t laughed that much in a long time. Plus I really enjoyed getting to meet Joanna Marshall! Before everyone left, Jessica and Joanna sang a song accompanied by a guitar. The song is called, “You’re All I Need.”

Guess which song was one of my favorites that they sang when I was a teenager? Yes, it was “You’re All I Need.”

It’s amazing to me how God let Jessica’s path cross my path. Jessica’s friendship has been a blessing to me. I’m so thankful I can call her my friend.

You’re All I Need
Verse 1
Oft times I’ve come to live my life according to my will.

When darkness comes it’s difficult to rest and just be still.

But Lord you are my shepherd, that guides me in the way.

So I will learn this glorious truth and I your Word obey.

Chorus

You’re all I need. You’re the Lord of everything.

All I need, this is why I humbly sing.

Your strength is sustaining and Your grace has made me free.

You’re my heart’s lone desire, you’re all I need.

Verse 2

By wanting more, I’ve wanted less than all you’ve given me.

You gave your all by laying down your life at Calvary.

So I surrender all Lord, my past to you I give,

And thank you for giving me a reason to live.

Chorus

You’re all I need. You’re the Lord of everything.

All I need, this is why I humbly sing.

Your strength is sustaining and Your grace has made me free.

You’re my heart’s lone desire, you’re all I need.
