“I love you very much!”
“I love that dress!”
“I love that movie!”
“I love that TV show!”
“I love that sports team!”
The list could go on, couldn’t it? We are a very self-centered society. I’m guilty of it as well. Sometimes I get so caught up in the things I love and like to do, that I forget about my first Love – which is Jesus. My relationship with Him must be my top priority in my life. Have I faulted along the way? Yes, but He is always there to help me get on the right path again. I’m so thankful He’s always the same faithful, unchanging, merciful God yesterday, today and forever.
This past month as I have continued to walk through this journey, the Lord has been teaching me that His love and mercy are ever-present and immutable. Life can get hard at times, and I just wish I could hit the restart button on my life. But then, when I delve into my Bible, I always come away encouraged and ready to press on.
Here are some of my favorite verses on God’s love and mercy.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved; )
Ephesians 3:17-21 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Those verses just scratch the surface of the love and mercy of God.
Recently I have been listening to this song called, “Nothing Stops The Savior’s Love.” I listen to it almost every day. My favorite parts are the second verse and chorus.
They only saw her as a outcast, never worth the time,
But Jesus saw her heart as another broken life;
He knew His Grace would go the distance and finally set her free.
To show the world that no one is out beyond degree.
Jesus finds us and brings us purpose to it all; He never lets us go,
So that the world may know
Chorus
Sin may scar the heart,
Sin may wound the soul,
But there’s no broken life that Mercy can’t make whole,
Fear may rule the day;
But hope it always finds a way to reach us where we are,
To give us life that’s more than what we dreamed of,
Nothing stops the Savior’s Love.
It is true, friend, “There’s no broken life that Mercy can’t make whole.” Jesus loves you so much and wants a relationship with you.
I don’t know what you’re facing this month but if you haven’t ever accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, He is ready and waiting to adopt you into the family of God.
I hope you’ll choose to do this today without delay.
If you want to know how you can become a Child of God, go to this post: Everyone Needs Help
If you’re already a Child of God, how are you doing in your relationship with Him? Have you gotten stagnant, in a rut, or has it become mundane? May I encourage you to keep staying faithful in the Word, because you never know when you’ll need that nugget of truth to help a friend or stranger in need.
Nothing Stops The Saviors Love
Verse 1
I’ve watched you live within the suffering of the choices made,
I’ve watched you walk pass Mercy and choose to go your way,
I thought the roads laid out before you, they were clear to see,
One would lead to sorrow.
One would set you free.
You need to know, that love brings purpose to it all,
It never lets us go,
So that the world may know,
Chorus
Sin may scar the heart,
Sin may wound the soul,
But there’s no broken life that Mercy can’t make whole,
Fear may rule the day;
But hope it always finds a way to reach us where we are,
To give us life that’s more than what we dreamed of,
Nothing stops the Savior’s Love.
Verse 2
They only saw her as a outcast, never worth the time,
But Jesus saw her heart as another broken life;
He knew His Grace would go the distance and finally set her free.
To show the world that no one is out beyond His reach,
Jesus, finds us and brings us purpose to it all; He never lets us go,
So that the world may know
Chorus
Sin may scar the heart,
Sin may wound the soul,
But there’s no broken life that Mercy can’t make whole,
Fear may rule the day;
But hope it always finds a way to reach us where we are,
To give us life that’s more than what we dreamed of,
Nothing stops the Savior’s Love.
Bridge
His Love is deep.
His Love is wide.
All because the Savior bled and died.
Sin may scar the heart,
Sin may wound the soul,
But there’s no broken life that Mercy can’t make whole,
Fear may rule the day;
But hope it always finds a way to reach us where we are,
To give us life that’s more than what we dreamed of,
Nothing stops the Savior’s Love.
Nothing stops the Savior,
Nothing stops the Savior,
Nothing stops the Savior’s Love!
Wonderful truth! Thanks for sharing.
