Are You Trusting in God’s Plan or Your Own?

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

This week I was listening to a message and the preacher was preaching out of Isaiah 55:8-9. One of his points was, “Are you going to reject a God, who has a plan for you that’s far better than you could ever plan yourself?”

Some people in this world live in, what I call, “Worry land.” Worry land is where people ask these two questions, “What if?” and “If only?” These two phrases can sometimes get confusing when I am thinking about the future. For example, I could think to myself, “What if I never get married?” Or “if only I could drive?” But if we dwell on things that we can’t do or can’t see in the future we will be miserable and depressed.

But when we let God plan out our lives and cast all our cares on Him, He will take care of us. (1 Peter 5:7) God knows our thoughts and ways. He knows we can do more even though we think we can’t. God wants us to trust Him with everything. Because without God we are nothing. It says in First Corinthians 15:10,. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. So are you going to reject God’s perfect plan for your life, or live a what if life full of doubt? Yes, there will be trials along the way but God will help you through them!
