When I was listening to this classic song this week, I was reminded how wonderful it is to have a relationship with God. I love the first verse where it says, “He’s all I need when just need someone to talk to.”
Living a life having to type out everything you want to say can be hard at times. I have been typing everything I want and desire to convey to others for 19 years, almost 20. I’ve been reflecting back on the years I have spent learning how to communicate using the language system on my communication devices. The language system is called Minspeak. Minspeak is a picture/icon-based language system. Different icons mean different things. Minspeak is a faster way of communicating as compared to just using the keyboard on these types of devices. Technology has advanced so much that I now can communicate by using an app on my iPhone, for which I’m thankful. Before I had the iPhone, one of my sisters, parents, or friends would kindly read from my 7-pound “chat box” (as we call my communication device).
As I was thinking about all of these memories, I was reminded that I have always been able to talk to God without having to type anything out. I can talk to Him just like any other person. He’s the only one that really knows what I’m going through and what I deal with day to day.
Only God can hear me speak and knows what my voice sounds like. The sounds of voices are very interesting and each is unique. God created them all. He knows each person’s voice. But the question really is, “Do you know His Voice? Now, we know we can’t audibly hear God. He speaks through His Word, the Bible. I enjoy my relationship with God and cherish His Word. Like the song conveys, He is a Friend closer than any brother. I find that to be so true in my life. I hope you find truth evident in your life as well.
